When my Dad takes pictures, he often shoots how he is feeling. This means he didn't necessarily get a great shot of the cherry blossoms falling in Kyoto, but when he looks at those pictures, he gets a glint in his eye that lets you know he's right back there, watching them fall.
The following picture is like that for me. It's not a great shot technically, and it's probably a little misleading to look at it.

This is one of those pictures that define SL for me. We're dancing in Caledon at Gen X with Gabi of Radio Riel, which is always a good time in and of itself. I'm not sure why Duchesses are attempting to self immolate, I was too busy IMing with Rane about snowcones and housekeepers. Rane is on the floor because I bumped him, at his request, and he's wearing a Collider Death prim. He's staying down until Gabi plays his request, which she did with grace. What doesn't show in the photograph is that Rane and I are both laughing til our sides hurt.
I was very serious about SL for a while - all business, and full of stress over things I could not control - like grid stability, and why are people so inconsistent about showing up to events? Lately, I've had the opportunity to laugh like this a few times, and thankfully, it's reminded me that this is what it's really all about. It is for moments like this that I spend time in-world.
